LANDSCAPE DESIGNER PORT MACQUARIE MID NORTH COAST NSW

Detailed design – the next phase after the initial  consultation

Once you have discussed your ‘wish list’ with Signature Landscapes onsite (or by tel/video) and have mood board (and possibly a  ‘mud map’) showing the extent and ‘feel’ of the proposed new landscaping we can put together a detailed design. You will have received a design quote prior to the commencement of any work. Once the quote is approved, we will undertake a thorough survey and site measurement noting all the the gradients and levels, the positioning of the home, sheds and any existing fixed structures, retaining walls and fences.

Your new 2d landscape design package will clearly show any hard landscaping required, like retaining walls, excavation for a pool and surrounds, drainage requirements, concrete for a driveway, or a pad for a boat or caravan or pathways, pergola, new fences and whatever else is on your ‘wish’ list. Areas will be clearly marked with relevant notes for any additional structures like a shed, outdoor spa or sauna, a fire pit area and seating. It will also include a lighting plan and a detailed plant schedule which will have been previously discussed. To create an inviting and functional outdoor space to suit your tastes and living style it is imperative you have a detailed landscaping plan (or set of plans) which clearly shows what the final space will look like.  It is only from such a detailed plan that you will be able to obtain a quote for the construction and implementation of the design.

A detailed landscape design means you will be able to compare ‘apples with apples’ when it comes to obtaining quotes to undertake the work.

During the design process we will be constantly commnicating with you to ensure we are correctluy interpreting your ideas for your new outdoor spaces.  We never forget that we are creating a new space for your tastes and enjoyment. We will offer any practical advice along the way. Having some idea of your budget and timing at this stage helps us advise you if we think (from our years of experience) that your budget won’t stretch to some of your the proposed new work. Or whether the work can be completed in your time frame.

We will also let you know, during the design process, the best order of undertaking any new work – to save you time and money.  For example, if you are having  a new home built some of the hard landscaping, or new soil added, could be done by the builder when initial earth works are underway. If you are able to do any of the work yourself we are happy to provide an advice and management service. Once you have approved your final landscape design plans we are able to quote to complete all or part of the work. We are happy to work with you to complete the work in stages.

To achieve the best outcome for a landscape project you must a have a detailed design and construction plan in place.

You don’t build a house without a plan so when you’re making a significant investment on the outdoor areas of your home it should be treated the same way.

We believe every home deserves a Signature Landscape. We look forward to helping you achieve a wonderful outdoor space which you can enjoy for years to come, knowing that you also have an asset that adds considerable value to your home.
